Raphael was minding her own business for the most part. It was a beautiful night, the moon was full and the stars were glittering. And yet, even for such a night, most people were stuck inside, hiding from the shadows. It was true that most things that went bump in the night were out to play, to scavenge the lands. However, Raphie wasn't really afraid of them. After all, she hasn't had one bad encounter since she had ran away from her own kind. So much so, that she had asked Lucian, whom usually tagged along with her, to have a free night with Madeline, an old friend he had.
A part of her knew, that although he wanted to leave, that he would be around somewhere. He always was. He was her friend, but he had an overpowering need to protect her, just like others have been trying to do. Apparently there was a need for someone to stand up for peace, and she was just the voice to do it. Raphie didn't volunteer herself, or suggested that she would lead such a goal, but they wanted her to. Even then, she was conflicted, especially since Cassiel stated that her vision was just a silly dream. Nothing could be made of it. But perhaps she could prove him wrong. Who knew?
She had been walking down the pathway that lead to the forest, feeling that it would have been a good idea to get underneath some cover so she could be protected as she let her mind wander. She needed to think.. about Cas, and the book he had given her. About Adam, the werewolf that made her emotions go wild. About Lucian and Madeline. Raphael just needed to sit down and have a long hard quiet time so she could get everything straightened out. Then perhaps she could feel better.
Raphael was so close to the woods, and was already so deep in thought that she didn't see the man in the shadows blocking her way until she almost ran into him. She stumbled back, her wings spreading to help keeping her balance as she looked at the stranger with wide eyes. “Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there. You blend in so well with the shadows, it was as if you were hiding there on purpose..” She spoke uneasily. He didn't look as friendly as the others. Her instincts told her to run, but it as if her feet were frozen to the ground.
”Good evening, little angel. You really shouldn't be wandering around the forest as such a time of night. Things go bump in the night might harm you. Be lucky that I was hear to scare them all away.” He spoke with a sly smirk gracing his pale features. He looked so young, but his eyes gave him away, showing that he was much, much older. Alaric moved from his position of leaning against the tree to step closer to the petite angel, his head tilted as he was bemused. Didn't the angel know better? She should have ran.. he had more fun catching them anyway. But here she was.. so easy. It was as if the night was going perfectly for him already. His plan was unfolding.
Another step towards her, even if she decided to take a step back, the look of uneasiness on her face pleased him. “Then again, it would be me that you should be most afraid of, little angel. For I, am the scariest thing that goes bump in the night.”
Raphael's eyes widened to the man, at what he had claimed. Okay, so not everyone was nice to her. She didn't know what he was. He was too pale to be a human.. a vampire maybe? She didn't know. Frankly, she didn't want to stay and find out. Raphie quickly turned her back to the man to try and run. Yet, her feet didn't work. They didn't want to move from where she was standing. Her head turned to look at him wide eyed, before he picked up a nice looking branch and whacking her over the head with it. Everything went black...
It didn't take long for her awake. Her head was spinning from the blow, as she groaned. At first everything seemed so.. blurry, but finally she began putting the pieces together. Raphael squirmed, but her hands and feet were bound, laying down in the dirt. Her eyes looked around at the surroundings. She knew exactly where she was. The Colosseum. A small squeak came out of her mouth as she looked to her captor. Raphie wasn't afraid, but she acted it, trying to figure out how to get out of this situation. It was then that his game begun, and Raphael was just simply the pawn. [/color]

The time had come. He had been waiting, as his memories try to push back the night that was the worst ever for him. It had been such a nice night. Similar to the one that was this night in the present. He and his lover had just finished feeding when something came down from the sky. They had never heard about angels from that point, only folk tales that were written down in what was known as the bible. They had approached it cautiously, curiously, but that didn't prepare him for what was to come. He tried to fight them off, but he had failed. His lover had perished because he couldn't defeat the winged creatures.
Since that night, he had sworn revenge of the winged creatures. He wanted to kill every last one of them. Sure, every now and again he had captured an angel or two, but not enough to make a difference. It wasn't until he had fused his body with a demonic spirit that the plan became in full blossom. Of course, it made him a bit mental, and he liked to talk to himself, but that was a small price to pay. He had to get rid of these angels.
News had spread around about two angels in particular. There was a female one, who had the stupid idea of trying to get the races together and stop the war. She was a believer in peace, and he scoffed at the thought. There was no such thing as peace, at least, not in this world. Then there was the one that he wanted, the male, the leader of the so called angels. The two had been seen together more than once, and he knew exactly what he had to do. If only he could find the female one.
That is where the human came into play. Alaric had heard her muttering about some angel that her friend was protecting as they had a casual conversation over a deal he was making with her. An angel who had the silly idea of peace. Immediately he had cornered the woman. True, she had put up a fight, but with his magic, it wasn't too hard after a bit. He had coaxed it out of her where the angel was staying, near the woods she had said. Thus, the reason why he was hanging out in the shadows of the trees. Tonight was the night, he thought, that he would finally shed blood for his beloved.
Just like clockwork, the female angel appeared walking up to the woods. He tilted her head to get a better look at her. She looked harmless, and the human that was supposedly was protecting her was no where in sight. Good, this was going to be easier than he thought. Apparently she was deep in thought, because she had practically ran into him. Alaric took a step forward to make his presence known, causing her to stumble back and ramble on.
Silly thing, she was trying to run. Alaric was hoping that she would try. He merely just smirked, before clasping his hands together. Speaking in what seemed to be a demonic language, he casted the spell to bind her feet to the ground upon which she had stood. The spell had worked, as the angel panicked at the fact she couldn't move. A chuckle emitted from his lips as he found the biggest tree branch he could find. Rearing back, he knocked the girl in the head with it, as she blacked out. Slowly, he undid the spell, and threw her over his shoulder, heading start to the arena, a place that was perfect to stage his plan.
Alaric bound her hands and feet together, laying her down in the dirt, as well as getting out his lovely toys setting them down on a makeshift table that he had brought with him. He looked down at the angel, before drawing his foot back to kick her in the side. “Wake up, little one. It's time to play!” He stated with mad laughter, before moving back to the table, his eyes focusing on it.
He looked up to the sky before shouting to no one in particular. “I have your precious angel! You might want to come get her, before I send her to you, piece by piece!” He smirked, before his hand gently glided over his instruments. Yes, this was going to be a very fun game indeed. Pulling up the scalpel, he moved over to the angel. “Now my dear, this is going to hurt a bit..” With that he began his cuts with precise movements, moving to cause most pain. It only caused him to continue on with her screams. While doing so, he hissed. “You better take the bait, you bastard...” Let the game begin.

The deal was supposed to go off without a hitch. However, something had gone wrong. Horribly wrong. It was simply, bring the goods to the customer, and then she would be back for her dinner with Lucian. It was true that Madeline was still uneasy about his quest to protect an angel named Raphael, however, she too wanted to believe that peace could be achieved. Besides, Lucian was hers anyway, and they two were just friends, she trusted him. So much so, that Lucian had a night off, and was planning on a quiet night, just the two of them. After her job was done at least.
Maddie has made deals with the man before. He was a vampire, that goes by the name Alaric Stevens. He preferred to be called Mr. Stevens, and she didn't bypass his wish. As long as he gave her the money, everything was going to be fine. He liked daggers and swords, you know, pointing things. Even though she was an Arm's dealer, she had something to supply what he had wanted to her. Therefore she met on the outskirts, to complete his deal.
Everything was going fine. She handed him the daggers and knives, and he had given her the money as promised. They were simply having a casual conversation. He was talking about her relationship with Lucian, and she happened to mention the angel. His eyes grew wide, and it was as if he changed into a different person. He had demanded to tell her where he had seen the angel who was so set on peace among the races. She refused, drawing her guns to try and ward him off.
Apparently, he wasn't all vampire, but a demon. A binding spell was cast, and she fell over, the guns right next to her. She looked up with a sort of glare at the man who was now standing over her. He demanded again, his eyes wild. Once again, Madeline refused. She shouldn't have. He drew in a chuckle before taking the knife, the very one she had just sold him, and dragged it across her arm.
Maddie cried out. “You bastard!” A single tear stung her eye. He asked her one last time, this time the knife against her chest. She whined slightly, gritting her teeth. She had to give in before she bleed out all over the concrete. “Okay! The other human, my human, protects the angel. She has a cabin in the woods, and often likes to take a nightly walk among them. If not, she is at that stupid old arena talking to a fellow angel..” The man smirked, before letting her go. Immediately, Madeline scrambled up and took off before she could faint from the blood loss.
Banging on his door, she was waiting for Lucian to answer. He knew how to patch them up, seeing as they bled easily, and it couldn't really be stopped as fast as most humans. She forced back tears, as she banged once more. As the door opened, Madeline practically collapsed into his arms, holding onto the wound weakly. “I might of made a mistake.. that angel is in trouble, Lucian. A demon has her, he's bringing her to the arena..” With that, another pawn is added. Who will win?

Hiseyes moved over the recently drawn maps in the council room, his scouts had did a wonderful job portraying the city. Counting buildings, street signs, width, height, yard to meter. Now all they needed were defenses on the ground, holes with spikes maybe; or trip systems. He contemplated this as a group of angels marched in
"Sire." His voice calm and steady, Cassiel continued to read his maps.
"We have located Raphael Sire, she is with a leech of some sort."
Cassiel sighed openly
"You were told that she had made friends in the human world correct? This doesn't concern me, either he will kill her or he wont. Why waste our precious resources running after a single healer!?"
He said his last bit with something like sarcasm, his hand waved them off as he went back to the maps just recently delivered to him. He would learn the city well, as well as the humans at least. listening to the squad leave he wondered, would he go to see for himself? he shook his head, why should he? She made the decision of her own free will. He nodded to himself crossing his arms his face a stubborn frown, she would learn her lesson the hard way then.
He yawned as his eyes went back over the squares and numbers with the occasional scribbled equation on the map, he would make do. The final map would not be done for some time, so he knew he had plenty of time to study. His eyes went to the window, his mind wandered.
